The document that matters
A data path you can hand to someone else
"It's private, trust me" is worth nothing to a client, a regulator or an insurer. What's worth something is a written statement of exactly what runs where.
What it states
- Where your documents live, and what reads them.
- What leaves the machine during normal use — nothing, or each item named.
- Every network connection the software makes, what it carries, and whether it can be turned off.
- What is logged, where, and for how long.
- How updates work, and what an update request sends.
What it doesn't claim
- It describes the configuration installed on a date. It isn't a security assessment.
- It isn't a compliance certification, and I won't write one.
- A blanket "nothing ever goes to the cloud" only appears if it's literally true of what I installed.
- No accuracy is promised before it's measured on your own documents.

Be aware
- A laptop with 8 GB of memory generally can't run this usefully. My own test case on that hardware returns "do not deploy", and I'll tell you the same.
- A local model is visibly weaker than a large cloud one at some tasks. The review names which.
- Output still needs a person to check it. Any setup that pretends otherwise is selling you a problem.
